Spring Cleaning Opportunities

May 1st is the Elgin Community Wide Garage Sale. Although not inside the city limits, some residents of neighborhoods such as Cedar Hills and The Arbors at Dogwood Creek do participate during the Garage Sale weekend.

Per the Elgin Courier Online, Elgin Texas:

"Interim City Manager Chris Bratton announced at the Elgin City Council meeting that the City-wide Clean Up has been slated for Saturday, May 15.

Bratton told Council members that it will be held at the Park and Ride on Hwy. 95 North and that a water bill will be required as in previous years.
City staff will work with the city's contracted trash provider for the needed dumpsters. No hazardous materials will be accepted.

He also announced that a separate electronics clean-up has been set for Saturday, May 8, also at the Park and Ride.

The electronics clean-up is not managed by the City but rather is being held by a coalition of entities.

Sponsors of this event include Good Will Industries, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) through Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), Bastrop County, Keep Bastrop County Beautiful and the City of Elgin and others."

Since the electronics clean-up is not managed by the City, Bastrop County residents may be able to participate. I'd encourage you to check with Bastrop County before heading up there on May 8th.
